If Chlamydia is left untreated in women, the cervix can get infected with inflammation and soreness. Also, the urethra can get infected. If left untreated in men, the urethra and epididymis can become inflamed. Also, an unborn baby may get infected with an eye infection, or pneumonia when it passes through the cervix during birth.
