Intestinal Parasites
The Name?: Intestinal Parasite, Protozoa, or the name of the parasite such as “Tape Worm”. Helminths are another type, but have many more cells. Many different types can be found. Many different types can be classified as Parasite. Otherwise there are no “Street” names. So how is it transmitted between person to person? Well, it can be uncooked food or even unprotected anal sex. But it can related to non sexual/eating ways such as just changing the diaper of a child. There aren't many ways to contract it, nor is it as easy as getting HIV. It takes being literally in contact with the infect person through that orifice. It can't be contracted via blood nor air.
Symptoms? They are a couple of symptoms but normally this has no symptoms that are showed off while having it. However, they may cause some symptoms they can be, but are not limited to, Bloating, Vomiting, Nausea, Diarrhea, and/or abdominal pain/losing weight. A sure fire way to know is going to your local doctor, and asked to be tested. This is such a common disease that almost ALL Americans have it because it's so hard to discover if you have it. So it wouldn't really be a problem with your parents since they might have it too! It's so common that you shouldn't be worried that you have it, unless you have symptoms of it of course! They can prove fatal depending on what it is, like if you have a tapeworm you'll loose weight because you aren't getting the nutrients that you need; showing that you could possibly die from it depending on how bad it gets.
Can it be cured/treated? Can be cured, may take time or happen right away, It depends on your treatment and if you are pregnant or not; The antibiotics can have some negative effects to the baby. Along with immune disorders will effect the plan (same below). Some tinctures or even herbs can be used in cases to help the infection. It is more common to see such disease in children or the elderly. Sometimes during pregnancy it can be hurtful to the person to take certain pills and will be monitored closely by a doctor. To get help, or if you have a feeling you know this. You will have to contact your doctor, meet for an exam and then if you do have them your Doctor will prescribe them. There isn't any other way to check if you have said disease easily. It shouldn't matter to your parents after they hear how common it is.
What age group gets it the most? Children or the Elderly. It’s very hard to tell so it is basically all three, because some who may have it won’t even know it. It’s hard t tell if someone has said parasites because it is very difficult to find out if you have them, mostly because they act invisible. And again, so many people have it and don't have problems it's no that big of a deal! You only would want to worry about it if it shows symptoms! Even we could have it and not know it already! However, if you are experiencing some of them it's best to find out because with some such as tapeworms can cause problems with your day to day life! Or even worse! Other parasites can be just as bad as well.
