What is chlamydia?Chlamydia, or "the gooey stuff", is an bacterial infection, transmitted by oral, vaginal, or anal sex. It's not really visible, unless certain side effects are happening. Side effects of Chlamydia include discharge from the genitals, bleeding, swollen testes, and a burning feeling while urinating. The biggest side effect is that it can spread to a woman's uterus, and make it so she can't have kids.
Can chlamydia be cured?Yes, Chlamydia can be cured and treated. It usually takes about 3 or 4 months to treat, but if medication is taken as much and as often as told, it won't taken any longer. It's encouraged that people refrain from sexual activity for until a few months after treatment is complete.

How to not get chlamydiaSince chlamydia is an STI, there are a few ways to avoiding getting it. The first way is to use condoms. Condoms stop any fluids getting into any orifices, and it stops diseases from spreading.
The second way to avoid getting chlamydia is to remain abstinent. That means just don't have sex. Using a condom, there's still a tiny chance that chlamydia will be transmitted. If the sex doesn't even happen, there's a 0% chance of getting chlamydia. The last thing I'd suggest avoid having sex with women 26 and under. Chlamydia is most common in women under 26, so the chance of getting chlamydia is less if the people having sex aren't women under 26. |
